Good Times

7 06 2008

Here are some more photos of Willem and the Tensens at my dads recent Birthday. We were lucky enough to have Gerald with us too. It was very special.

I’ve started a new job. Sort of… We’d started something at work which took off and now has become a company in itself and is moving ahead very very quickly. Very exciting and blessed to be a major part of it and working with some very talented people. Go to www.loex.com.au to find out a little more.

Natalie is recovering very well and despite being housebound a lot of the time is coping very well. I’m very proud of her.

Willem is what we might call “a text book baby”. He’s set himself on a 3 hour feeding pattern, he sleeps well most nights and is growing steadily.

Mia is a very proud older sister. She calls him “Little baby Willem” and gives us a running commentary everytime he cries or passes wind. “Little baby Willem did a fluffy! Ooooh disgusting!” Funny stuff.

So yeah! Good times.

Home Home

24 05 2008

Yesterday (Fri) Natalie and Willem were given the green light for leaving the hospital and returning home. So at 1pm two proud parents took their wonderful son home.

Mia was most excited to have her new brother home and doctors said as long as Willem was breast feeding he’d be immune to anything Mia would still be carrying from her chicken pox. Something about a “passive immunity”. Sounds cool to me!

I’ll post some more photos over the coming days.

Willem David Tensen

19 05 2008

Born 19th May 2008.

53cm

8lb 9oz

Made in Japan

Nat is doing well (considering the surgery) and with Mia at home with the chicken pox, won’t be in a hurry to return home. The staff at Caboolture Hosp were amazing. Couldn’t have asked for better care. God is so good! We saw his hand in so many areas. We’re over the moon with our healthy little boy!

Monday

15 05 2008

Monday the 19th is the new day.  Nat went to the hospital for a check up today and they have moved her forward to Monday afternoon. WOW! A new Tensen in 4 days time. Crazy.  We’ve been really blessed with the perfect locum doctor who has been treating us so great at Caboolture Hosp.

In other news, Mia has chicken pox.  Or so it would seem. Lots of little spots have developed on her torso and face today. This now means that Mia can’t be near the new baby for at least a week…  Nat will be spending about 5 days in hospital and Mia can’t go to kindy so will need full time care at home. Sweet challenge!  Thank God for grandparents who are making good effort to look after Mia.

I’ll try and put some photos up early next week.

So excited.  Please pray for us.

Lumps and Bumps

10 05 2008

Mum and Dad kindly lent us their laptop for a night so here’s an update.>>>

Haven’t written a post in May yet because I haven’t been at work - where I usually write a quick update on my lunchbreak. In fact I’ve been house bound since the 1st with the Chicken Pox. Nasty little lumps. Bit of a killer for an adult to get them we were told… and they were right.  ghastly photos here

I’m pretty much over them now, except for some major spots on my head (which i had to shave short to get too) and my torso. The little beggers were everywhere - ironically I was reading Job that week in my devotions. Hope to be back at work Monday - albeit with a hat on.

As for bumps. My sister gave birth to a boy on Wednesday. Ashton Ben Rodgers. I haven’t seen him yet (me being in quarantine and all) but am stoked to be an uncle and plan to see meet tommorrow.

Our bump.  After several doctor and hospital visits, it was recommended Nat have c-section on the 22nd May.  However, if she goes into labour before this date, we’ll see how things go.  Nat’s being doing really really well - especially with a sick husband and active 3.5 year old.  Once again, she’s my hero and I love her to death.

Happy mothers day to all the ladies.

Thanks to Kings Media for their great work.

Speaking at Bribie

9 04 2008

We’ll all be heading down to Bribie Christian Community Church this Sunday 13th where Nat and I will be speaking and sharing about our time in Japan etc.
In other news, all is well. About 7 weeks to go before Australia is blessed with another Tensen. Friday 18th is Nat’s 30th B’day so if you are able, please give her a call on that day.

A few people noticed we weren’t on Facebook anymore. Yes, we left it. No computer at home and time to update it. It’s actually possible to live without it. Mankind has done well without it for many years and I was a little sick of having another place I was obligated to check out daily other than my post box, email accounts & mobile phone. Anyone is free to email us through this site if they wish to contact us. ;)

Things that have happpened

24 03 2008

A quick update on things.

1. Nat has 9 weeks to go now.  Getting uncomfortable.

2. On 7th March we celebrated 3652 days of marriage (10 years including leap year days).

3. Work has been busy with the invent of www.nickschallenge.com and all the positive PR the shop has received from offering a 10% pensioner discount.
4. We love living near family.

5. We heard an awesome testimony from dear friends who supported us in Japan despite a big financial hit - they said things turned around miraculously -  very encouraging.

6.  Loving life and the weather in Australia.

Happy Easter!

Space

22 02 2008

Just a quick note to say that we have successfully moved into our own place. It’s a 2 bedroom unit in Maroochydore. Very nice.

As always, God provided enourmously and we were pretty much given everything like a TV, dining set, BBQ, fridge, dryer, washing machine, bed and loads more.  And the best thing is, it’s not old crap that no one wanted. It’s all great quality and some of it practically new.
Work is going great, I just got a company vehicle… a 50cc scooter. ;)   It’s perfect!

At Last!

11 02 2008

Today we got confirmation back from an estate agent about a rental property in Maroochydore!  We move in around the 20th - after 5 weeks in transit. Praise GOD!

I also found a local oriental food store that stocks a lot of foods that we came to love in Japan including kimchee, nori, korean nori, sweets and bulk rice.  I’ve even made a few onigiris for friends and work colleagues and they love them… funny.
Short one today!
